Snake Plissken Quintet is a San Francisco based band featuring a high energy set of funk groove jazz. The bass and drums lay down a tight velvety groove to get the bodies moving and the guitar, sax, and keys go to work laying down monster solos and innovative melodies. SPQ brings elements of Funk, Soul, Rock, and Jazz together for their own unique San Francisco Sound. Whether playing original music or creating cool new versions of songs by their favorite artists they keep the energy high and the vibe fun. SPQ's music is influenced by the Meters, Galactic, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Charlie Hunter, Steely Dan, Grant Green, Billy Cobham, Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis, and many other artists. SPQ's set list includes renditions of songs by the artists above and original music written by the band. We can play a full night of music at any club or play a shorter set as needed.
